Trains have been doing their part – picking us up at the station, taking us through the mountains & over the rivers, driving us through memories and dropping us at our final destination.
A significant part of our everyday lives, a dependable means of transporting people and goods around the world – trains provide us an opportunity to enjoy our journeys.
The Toronto Railway Museum is a tribute to this means of transportation. It is located in the heart of the beautiful city of Toronto in the Roundhouse Park. And what better time than summer – to visit this park when it is buzzing with tourists and exciting events. We were there last Sunday and the Craft beer festival was going on with live music and appetizing food.
So, along with enjoying the live entertainment, one can delve into the Railway history of this country. There are several outdoor exhibits of engines & equipment and most importantly, the massive locomotive turntable (a round platform used for turning railroad cars) which is quite impressive.
The brightly colored engines amid the wonderful setting of tall buildings all around draws one to the area. And there’s even a miniature train which runs through the park and is a fun thing to do for everyone.
Don’t forget to click some awesome pictures – with the engines or while riding the mini train. We enjoyed our time there and will be back again soon.
