On our recent visit to Shreveport, enjoying a Cajun-creole meal at ‘Blind Tiger’ was on the top of the things to do. And that’s where we had lunch to begin our day in this lovely city. The casual vibe, its great location and the tempting food – make it an ideal place to stop by, when in Louisiana.
Our scrumptious meal included:
Floridays Martini
A martini makes a good start, damn right ! Perfect for a winter day, I started my lunch with a glass of joy – a concoction of cuervo gold tequila, orange curacao, lime juice, orange juice and sour mix.
A bowl of Gumbo
Garnished with a slice of crunchy cornbread brushed with olive oil, finely chopped green onions and a big ball of rice in the middle; this aromatic bowl of gumbo couldn’t be any better. A treat both for the eyes and palate, it was a tiny cup of heaven.
Shrimp Platter
The flavor of shrimp is captured in a variety of ways – with Fried gulf Shrimp, Blackened gulf Shrimp, Shrimp Étouffée , Shrimp meat Pies alongside fried corn and Jambalaya. This platter takes the level of deliciousness up many notches.
Bread Pudding
A bread pudding to finish a meal in Louisiana is always the best idea. The mouth-watering sweet slice of pudding is served with whipped cream and syrup. And it did make a great finish.
The food was beyond amazing and we happily paid the bill. Before leaving Shreveport, we were back there again for another delicious meal.
P.S. Read the interesting story behind their name.
