Frida Kahlo’s home also known as – Casa Azul (blue house) is in Mexico City where she grew up and also lived as a renowned artist till 1954. This lovely home is now a museum and the rooms & her painting studio are kept the same as they were when Frida Kahlo lived there.

The house is located in Coyoacan neighborhood in Mexico City and has distinct blue colored walls – hence the name Casa Azul. We had booked our tickets online a month before as they get sold out quickly and were in the museum within a few minutes. Got the customary picture with the famous wall where it says Frida Y Diego.

It was amazing to see such a famous place and to see Frida Kahlo’s works of art. Her beautiful studio with the colors and brushes was kept like she was painting there yesterday and the rooms & the kitchen have been decorated so beautifully.

The house was donated by her husband Diego in 1957 and since then it has been a museum honoring the life of Frida Kahlo. We walked through the beautiful house and clicked pictures but taking videos was not allowed. The entire house/museum was set up in such a way that it depicted the life story of Frida Kahlo and her husband. After the tour was complete, we went to the souvenir shop to get something to remember this lovely place.
